![]() The "Fifth Major" turned into a brutal slog for golf fans, as the activities were marred by lengthy weather delays, lopsided draws, and finally, mercifully, a Monday finish. Hello PGA DFS family and welcome back to Horse For The Course! I think we all knew that there would be some weather issues for THE PLAYERS Championship, but I don't know that we expected that. We will be back with you this week for the last ever WGC event on the PGA Tour schedule! It is the only match-play event of the season, and Scottie Scheffler will look to defend another title this week.14. He made the cut, but he never really made any noise in the tournament as he finished T36. ![]() Krister debated between Justin Rose and Sam Burns, and ultimately went with Rose who had a pretty lowkey weekend. ![]() My late pick of Brian Harman did not pan out as he had a difficult Friday which led to a missed cut and $0 to my season total. His T3 finish this week at The Valspar re-upped Carrie's impressive lead on the season. He hits impossible shots followed by can't miss putts (that somehow do), or he messes up routine play and follows up with incredible up-and-downs! No matter what you expect from Spieth, he brings a necessary level of entertainment to golf. Carrie and I were following along very closely with Jordan Spieth (Carrie's pick to win), and he once again showed why you can't help but be captivated by his play. Having said that, some of the biggest names in the game still turned out for this event that proved very challenging to all competitors with lots of wind and very firm conditions. The field is a bit more sporadic, and the stakes feel relatively smaller. If you are a big PGA fan checking in with the Tour on a weekly basis, this might have been one of the first tournaments with a noticeable difference between elevated (designated) events and those which are not. Taylor Moore scrambled his way into his first career PGA victory! Give us a follow on Instagram and Twitter, and we will check back in with you here on Sunday! Rose, coming off his first victory in more than four years just one month ago, and who has been playing solid golf ever since, should be expected to contend in this week's field. Krister: Krister threw a few names around this week, but he decided he was going to run with Justin Rose, who has been firing on all cylinders. ![]() A course where Spieth can be creative and use his short game, Carrie hopes that Spieth will shine in a weaker field as he gears up for the Masters in just a few short weeks. Keegan Bradley was a late scratch from the tournament! My counterparts kindly let me switch picks Thursday morning, and I went with Brian Harman to get me some solid play!Ĭarrie: Carrie was heavily thrown off by her Rory McIlroy pick last week, so she is looking to make waves with Jordan Spieth this week, one of the clear favorites coming in. Bradley has been in excellent form all season long and, with a slightly diminished field, I am expecting Bradley to shine this week in Florida. I am riding with Keegan Bradley this week. 3 weeks until everyone, including those LIV golfers banned from playing the PGA schedule, convene in Augusta at the "greenest place on Earth" for the Masters.
